
About the course
The Green Coffee Foundation course is a one-day educational program designed for individuals who are beginning their journey in the field of green coffee. It is part of the Coffee Skill Program educational system, which is administered by the Specialty Coffee Association.
The course culminates in a theoretical exam, the successful completion of which leads to the attainment of a certificate.
Prior to advancing to the intermediate level in the Green Coffee module and the Sensory Skills module, it is highly recommended to participate in the Foundation course.
The Green Coffee Foundation course offers an introduction to the fundamental principles of green coffee production, trade, and quality assessment. The program offers a comprehensive overview of the specialty coffee supply chain, from farm to roaster. Participants will gain insights into critical aspects such as coffee cultivation, harvesting, processing, drying, shipping logistics, and storage.
Additionally, the curriculum includes an introduction to sensory and measurement analysis of green coffee, equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the intricacies of the coffee supply chain.
