This license is for Places conducting non-commercial research into coffee systems, materials, methods, or models — including universities, labs, field stations, and collaborative innovation hubs. Whether your work is scientific, political, ecological, or social, it belongs inside the living network of The Better Coffee.
 
The Research License provides access to shared tools and a system-wide knowledge ecosystem — so your studies, tests, and explorations can benefit others and invite connection.
 
By choosing the Supporter Tier, you go further: you actively fund access for other research teams in structurally under-resourced regions. Your contribution supports participation where funding is scarce — and inquiry is vital.
 
With the Supporter Tier, you receive:
Full access to The Better Coffee Standard and Research license documentation
The right to operate as The Place [Your Name] or [Your Location]
Inclusion in collaborative projects, data-sharing efforts, and research showcases
Branding, identity, and ethical communication tools for visibility and publishing
Access to internal tools, frameworks, cross-disciplinary support, and visual systems
Participation in events, public knowledge campaigns, and experimental labs
Administrative support — partnership structure, legal tools, and ethical guidance
Trust-based license check-in after 3 years — focused on alignment and mutual growth (or earlier if needed/requested)
Help with open-access publishing, co-authorship, and platform design
Talent and labor sharing — from embedded observers to co-investigators
Equal standing in the network — no HQ, no gatekeeping. All Places contribute knowledge while honoring The Standard
